Birla Mandir

Located in the Ballygunge, this Hindu temple was constructed by the Birla family. It is dedicated to the deities Rama and Krishna. Visitors go here to observe the architecture and participate in religious worship.

The temple is situated in the southern part of Kolkata. From the city centre, you can reach the site via taxi or ride-sharing services. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.

When to Visit

The temple attracts large crowds during Janmashtami, the festival celebrating the birth of Krishna. To avoid the heaviest congestion, visit during weekdays or early in the morning. Like many religious sites in the city, it can become very crowded during major festivals and weekends.
