Elliðaár
Overview
Elliðaár consists of two small rivers originating in the Bláfjöll mountains that flow into Lake Elliðavatn and pass through the Heiðmörk nature reserve near Reykjavík and Kópavogur. Travellers visit to walk along the riverbank trails and enjoy green open space close to the urban area.
Getting There
The area is roughly 15 to 20 minutes from central Reykjavík or Kópavogur by car or municipal bus. Public transit stops near Árbær provide direct pedestrian access to the paths.
