Seasonal Weather and Crowds

Winter (December to February): Ideal for Walking

Winter brings mild daytime temperatures and clear skies, making it ideal for walking along Arabian Gulf Street and visiting Kuwait Towers. Nights turn chilly. As peak season, waterfront promenades and Souq Al-Mubarakiya see their highest foot traffic.

Spring and Autumn (March–April, October–November)

March and November offer warm, manageable transitional weather. By April, heat rises sharply and dust storms occur. October remains hot, with high coastal humidity tapering off late in the month.

Summer (May to September): Severe Heat

Summer temperatures regularly exceed 45°C. Daytime outdoor walking is unsafe, and daily activity shifts entirely indoors. Avoid these months unless your trip is strictly confined to air-conditioned facilities.

When to Plan Your Trip

  • Sightseeing: December to February provides comfortable conditions for outdoor landmarks and walking districts.
  • National festivities: Late February coincides with National Day and Liberation Day celebrations.

Events and Travel Logistics

National Day and Liberation Day (February 25–26) bring heavy traffic to coastal roads and packed public areas. During Ramadan, public eating, drinking, and smoking during daylight hours are prohibited, and daytime commerce slows considerably.

Packing and Arrival Advice

Pack lightweight breathable layers for winter days, plus a jacket for cool desert nights and coastal breezes. Modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is required in public. From Kuwait International Airport (KWI), use official airport taxis or ride-hailing apps, as local buses are impractical for travelers with luggage.
