Our Lady of Mercy Cathedral, La Serena
Our Lady of Mercy Cathedral
Located on the corner of the Plaza de Armas, this cathedral is the largest religious building in La Serena. Visitors go here to observe its architecture and its role as a central landmark of the city's religious history.
Getting There
The cathedral is situated directly within the city centre. Since it is located on the main square, it is accessible by foot from most central hotels and businesses within a few minutes.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes to walk through the interior and view the surrounding plaza.
When to Visit
Visiting during the weekdays generally avoids the larger crowds that gather during Sunday services. Like most central landmarks, high-traffic areas, the plaza surrounding the building becomes more crowded during weekends and local holidays.

- Museo Arqueológico, La Serena (0.4km)
- Iglesia de San Agustín (0.4km)
- Parque Japonés de La Serena (0.5km)
