Tinubu Square
Overview
Tinubu Square is a public plaza located on Broad Street in the Lagos Island commercial district. Named after Madam Efunroye Tinubu, an influential 19th-century merchant and political figure, the site underwent several name changes around the period of Nigeria's independence. Travellers visit to see the central monument and open plaza within one of the oldest urban sections of Lagos.
Getting There
The plaza is located in central Lagos Island. From nearby central districts or Victoria Island, visitors can reach the area by taxi or ride-hailing services in roughly 20 to 45 minutes, depending on bridge and road traffic.

Plan for about 30 minutes at the location. This is sufficient time to view the monument, take photographs, and observe the surrounding architecture.
When to Visit
Daytime visits are recommended. The area becomes very crowded during weekday business hours due to dense foot traffic and street commerce. Sunday mornings offer a much quieter environment with less vehicle congestion.
