Lima Art Museum

Housed in the Palacio de la Exposición, the museum opened in 1961 and spans 3,000 years of Peruvian art. The collection includes pre-Columbian pottery and textiles, colonial painting, and contemporary works, providing a clear overview of the country's artistic development in one place.
Getting There
Located on the southern edge of central Lima, the site is roughly 15 to 25 minutes from the historic centre (Plaza Mayor) by taxi or rideshare. Alternatively, the Metropolitano bus line stops at Estación Central, situated directly adjacent to the grounds.

When to Visit
Weekday mornings and early afternoons are generally quieter. The galleries and surrounding grounds get significantly busier on weekend afternoons. Lima is warm and sunny from December to April, and overcast from May to November.
