Overview

The Lady Lever Art Gallery is a museum in the garden village of Port Sunlight, founded in 1922 by industrialist William Lever, 1st Viscount Leverhulme. Part of National Museums Liverpool, it houses his personal collection, featuring British paintings, Pre-Raphaelite works, Wedgwood pottery, and antique furniture.

Getting There

From central Liverpool, take a Merseyrail Wirral Line train towards Chester or Ellesmere Port from Liverpool Central or Moorfields. Alight at Port Sunlight or Bebington station. The journey takes around 15 to 20 minutes, followed by a 5-minute walk.

Time to Allow

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours to view the collection. Budget an additional hour if you intend to walk through the surrounding village.

When to Visit

Weekday mornings are the quietest time to visit. Weekends and school holidays tend to draw higher visitor numbers. Clear weather is preferable if you plan to walk around the village grounds.
