Botaniska trädgården

Managed by Lund University, this botanical garden covers 8 hectares and contains over 7,000 plant species. Visitors go here to see a diverse collection of flora and explore greenhouses that recreate nine different climate zones from around the world.

Getting There

The garden is located within walking distance of the city centre. From the central areas of Lund, it takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes to reach the entrance on foot.

Time Required

Depending on whether you visit only the outdoor sections or spend time in each of the climate-controlled greenhouses, allow between 1.5 to 3 hours for a full walkthrough.

When to Visit

The gardens are accessible throughout the year, though the outdoor plant diversity varies by season. The greenhouses provide a consistent environment regardless of the weather. The site can become crowded during peak summer months and on weekends.

Nearby Attractions

Because of its central location, the garden can be combined with several other sites within a short walking distance:

  • Mårtenstorget (0.5km)
  • Lund University Historical Museum (0.5km)
  • Skissernas Museum (0.5km)
