Malmö Art Museum
Overview
Housed within Malmö Castle in a structure completed in 1937, this institution is one of the leading art museums in the Nordic region. Travellers visit to see comprehensive collections of Nordic fine art, crafts, and rotating contemporary works.
Getting There
The site is located northwest of the city centre. Walking from central areas like Stortorget takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes across the castle park. Local buses and city bikes take 5 to 10 minutes.
Time to Spend
Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the main galleries. Allow up to 3 hours if you plan to view the full castle complex.
When to Visit
Weekday mornings offer the quietest experience. The galleries get crowded during weekend afternoons and on rainy days. The surrounding grounds are best explored during spring and summer.
