Overview

Caloocan Cathedral, also known as San Roque Cathedral, is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kalookan. Travellers visit to see its traditional ecclesiastical architecture and observe everyday religious life in the northern district of Metro Manila.

From central Manila, the site can be reached by taxi or rideshare in roughly 30 to 60 minutes depending on road congestion. Public transit options include taking the LRT Line 1 to Monumento Station, followed by a short jeepney or tricycle ride to the parish grounds.

Set aside 30 to 45 minutes to view the main nave, altar, and churchyard.

When to Visit

Weekday mornings are best for exploring quietly without interruptions. The interior becomes crowded during Sunday services and Catholic liturgical holidays. The dry season between November and April provides the most manageable conditions for travelling around the city.
