Maribor Regional Museum
Maribor Regional Museum
The Maribor Regional Museum is a cultural institution dedicated to the history and heritage of the Maribor region. It is split between two primary locations: the main exhibits housed within Maribor Castle and the Old Vine House, located in the Lent district. Visitors go here to view archaeological finds, regional art, and the world's oldest living productive grapevine.
Getting There
The main museum site is located in the heart of the city. From the city centre, it is a short walk of a few minutes, as the castle is situated immediately adjacent to the central pedestrian areas.
Time Requirement
Allow approximately two to three hours to explore the castle's collections. If you plan to visit the Old Vine House in the Lent district as well, you should allocate additional time for the walk between the two sites and the separate exhibition.
When to Visit
The museum is an indoor attraction, making it a reliable option regardless of the season. To avoid potential crowds, visiting during weekday mornings is generally more quiet than weekends.

Because of its central location, the museum can be easily combined with other local landmarks. Within a 0.1km radius, you can visit:
