Tezno is a district in Maribor, Slovenia, known primarily for its 20th-century history and post-World War II memorial site. Travelers interested in modern European history visit the area to see commemorative points marking events from the end of the second World War and to observe everyday life in a traditional working district of the city.

Getting There

The district lies south of the Drava River from central Maribor. You can reach it in roughly 5 to 10 minutes by car or local bus, or by walking south from the city centre in about 25 to 30 minutes.

Set aside 1 to 2 hours for a visit. This is sufficient time to walk to the historical markers, view the commemorative areas, and navigate the neighborhood at an unhurried pace.
