Notre-Dame de la Garde is a Roman Catholic basilica situated on a hill overlooking Marseille. It serves as a major city landmark and active pilgrimage site. Getting There
From the Old Port area in central Marseille, public bus line 60 runs directly to the top in about 15 to 20 minutes. Walking up takes roughly 30 to 40 minutes along steep residential roads and steps.

Plan for 1 to 1.5 hours to visit the upper sanctuary, the crypt, and the surrounding outdoor terraces.
When to Go
