Palais Longchamp

Overview

Palais Longchamp is a 19th-century monument in Marseille's 4th arrondissement. It houses an art museum and a natural history museum within its two wings, alongside a central fountain and colonnade. Behind the structure is a public garden ranked among France's notable parks, suitable for a walk or museum visits.

Getting There

From central Marseille, the trip takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes. Take Métro Line 1 or Tramway Line T2 to the Cinq Avenues - Longchamp station directly outside the site.

Time to Allow

Allow 45 to 60 minutes to view the exterior and gardens. If entering the art or natural history museums, set aside 2 to 3 hours.

When to Go

Morning and late afternoon are ideal to avoid summer midday heat. The park attracts both residents and visitors, with higher crowd levels on weekend afternoons than on weekday mornings.
