Arví Park

This ecological reserve and prehistoric archaeological site is located on the mountain slopes of the Aburrá Valley. Travelers visit the park for its forest trails, wildflowers, and butterfly sightings, making it a destination for trekking and nature observation.

Getting There

The park is accessible from the city centre via a combination of the Metro and the Metrocable gondola system. The journey involves taking the Metro to the nearest cable car station and ascending the mountain. The total travel time varies depending on the starting point in Medellín but typically takes around 45 to 60 minutes.

Duration of Visit

Depending on the number of trails explored, visitors should allow between 3 and 6 hours to navigate the reserve and return to the city.

When to Visit

Morning visits are recommended to avoid afternoon rains common in the region. The park can become crowded during weekends and Colombian public holidays. Visitors should be aware that the higher altitude means temperatures are cooler than in the city centre.
