What It Is

Fas'h Mosque is a historical site situated beneath a cave at the foot of Mount Uhud in Medina. It marks the traditional location where the Prophet Muhammad prayed following the Battle of Uhud. Today, only portions of a stone wall remain, enclosed and preserved behind an iron fence. Visitors come primarily for its religious and historical significance within the context of the Uhud battlefield.

Getting There

The site is located roughly 5 kilometres north of central Medina. Reaching the area by taxi or rideshare from the city centre typically takes 10 to 15 minutes, depending on traffic.

Time to Spend

Allow around 15 to 30 minutes for a visit. Because only partial ruins remain behind protective fencing, viewing the site and its immediate surroundings takes a short amount of time.

When to Visit

Early morning or late afternoon is best to avoid intense sun and heat, particularly during hotter months. The site is outdoors with minimal shade. Crowds are generally modest, though brief group visits occur throughout the day.
