Szinva Stream

The Szinva is a stream originating in the Bükk Mountains that flows directly through the center of Miskolc. Travelers visit this area to walk along the water, which is crossed by more than 70 bridges. A notable geographical feature of the stream is that it disappears underground in certain sections before resurfacing.

Access and Duration

Because the stream runs through the downtown area, it is accessible by foot from most central locations in Miskolc. Depending on your starting point in the city center, it takes only a few minutes to reach the banks.

Allow approximately one to two hours to walk along the stream and cross the bridges, depending on how much of the course you wish to follow.

Timing Your Visit

The area is accessible throughout the year. Visiting during the day provides the best visibility for the bridges and the points where the water goes underground. As it is located in the city center, it can become crowded during weekends and public holidays.
