Uzun oba
Overview
Uzun oba is an archaeological site in the Babek district of Nakhchivan, located along the right bank of the Nakhchivanchay River. It preserves the remains of an ancient settlement, offering evidence of early human habitation in the South Caucasus. Travellers interested in regional archaeology visit to examine these settlement traces in their natural landscape.
Getting There
The site is located just outside Nakhchivan city. Taking a local taxi or driving is the most straightforward option, taking approximately 15 to 20 minutes from the city centre. From Nakhchivan International Airport (NAJ), the drive takes about 20 minutes.

Plan for 30 to 45 minutes to walk across the open area and view the terrain.
When to Visit
Spring and autumn offer mild conditions for walking outdoors. Because the location is completely open with minimal shade, avoid midday heat during the summer months. The site remains quiet and does not attract crowds.
