Overview

Givat HaMoreh is a 515-meter hill rising beside the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel. Travellers go there for views across the valley floor toward Mount Tabor. The area features straightforward walking paths and viewpoints over the surrounding regional farmland.

Getting There

From central Nazareth, the hill is roughly 12 km south. Driving takes around 20 to 25 minutes. Regional buses run from Nazareth to neighboring Afula, where local taxis or connecting paths reach the base of the hill.

Time to Allow

Allow 1 to 2 hours for a visit to the summit and viewing points. If walking up the trails from the base on foot, budget 2 to 3 hours.

When to Go

Spring and autumn provide comfortable temperatures and clearer visibility. Summer afternoons are hot with very little shade, so visit in the early morning or late afternoon. The hill does not usually experience heavy crowds, though weekends see more local foot traffic.
