About the Site
The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation is an active place of worship in Nazareth. According to Eastern Orthodox tradition, it is built over the spring where the angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would bear Jesus. Travellers visit to see the church interior, traditional Orthodox iconography, and the underground spring located in the crypt.

Located near the city centre, the church is an easy walk of roughly 5 to 10 minutes from downtown Nazareth and the surrounding old market area. Local taxis and municipal buses also stop along the adjacent main roads.
