Church of St. Archangels Michael and Gabriel
This is the oldest Orthodox church in Niš. It is architecturally distinct because it was built deep into the ground to comply with Ottoman-era restrictions that prevented churches from being taller than mosques. Visitors go here to see this unique subterranean structure and the ornate iconostasis featuring numerous icons.
