Ancon Hill

Ancon Hill is a protected nature reserve and the highest point in Panama City, reaching an elevation of 199 meters. Travelers visit this site to view the city skyline and the Panama Canal from an elevated vantage point. The area consists of forested trails that provide a natural environment within the urban landscape.

Getting There

The hill is located a short distance from the city center. Most visitors reach the base via taxi or ride-sharing services, which typically takes 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Duration of Visit

Allow approximately two to three hours for a visit. This provides enough time to hike up the trails, spend time at the summit, and walk back down.

When to Visit

Early morning is recommended to avoid the midday heat and high humidity. The site can become crowded during weekends and public holidays. Visitors should be mindful of the rainy season, which can make the forest trails slippery.
