About Ko Thap

Ko Thap, also known as Koh Tub, is an island located in the Poda Archipelago within Thailand. It is primarily visited for its natural landscape and the unique phenomenon where a sandbar connects it to nearby islands during low tide, allowing visitors to walk between them.

Getting There

The island is accessed by boat from the mainland or nearby hubs. Since it is located in the Krabi province area, travelers arriving via Phuket International Airport (HKT) must first travel to the coast. The journey from the city center to the island involves a land transfer to a pier followed by a boat trip, typically taking several hours depending on the departure point.

Duration of Visit

Most visitors spend between two to four hours on the island. This allows enough time to explore the shoreline and experience the sandbar transition if the tide is receding.

When to Visit

The best time to visit is during the dry season to avoid monsoon weather. It is advisable to check tide tables before departing, as the connection to neighboring islands is only visible at low tide. The area can become crowded during peak tourist seasons and mid-day hours.
