This site consists of monumental ruins was dedicated to Zeus, the king of the Olympian gods. Construction began in the 2nd century BC but was not completed until the Roman era. Visitors go here to see the remaining colossal columns, which are among the largest from the ancient world.

Getting There

The site is located east of the Acropolis. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short taxi ride or by using the local metro and walking. The journey typically takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on the starting point.

Allow approximately 45 to 90 minutes to walk through the grounds and view the remaining columns.

When to Visit

Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat. The site is open year-round, though summer months are the most crowded. There is limited shade, so avoid peak sun hours.
