Charles Square

Established in 1348 by Charles IV, this is a large public square located in the New Town area of Prague. It features a large central park, providing a green space for walking and resting away from the denser urban areas of the city.

Getting There

The square is located within the city center. Depending on your starting point, it is accessible via a short walk or by using the Prague public transport system (tram or metro). From the central core, it typically takes 10 to 20 minutes to reach.

When to Visit

The park is most accessible during daylight hours. Spring and autumn are suitable for walking, while summer offers the most shade. Like many central locations in Prague, it can become crowded during peak tourist seasons, though it is generally less congested than the Old Town Square.
