Holy Cross Church and Calvary Route
The Holy Cross Church is an 18th-century religious site located on a hill west of Prešov. It serves as the final point of the town's Calvary pilgrimage route. Visitors go here to see the church and walk the path lined with fourteen chapels representing the Stations of the Cross, which provides a vantage point over the city.
Getting There
The site is located on the outskirts of the city centre. Visitors can reach the base of the hill via local transport or a walk from the central district. The ascent to the church involves climbing the pilgrimage path, which takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on pace.
Duration of Visit
Allow between 1 and 2 hours to complete the walk up the Calvary route, visit the chapels, and spend time at the church before descending.
When to Visit
The site is accessible throughout the year, though the outdoor path is most accessible during spring, summer, and autumn. Morning or late afternoon visits are recommended to avoid the midday sun during the climb. It generally does not get crowded, except during specific religious holidays.

- Cathedral of St Alexander Nevsky (1.4km)
