Kantrida
What It Is
Kantrida is a coastal district on the western outskirts of Rijeka along the Adriatic Sea. It features sports facilities including an outdoor pool complex and a seaside football stadium, alongside public beaches and a waterfront promenade. Travellers visit to swim, stroll along the water, or relax by the sea outside the industrial port centre.
Getting There
From central Rijeka, local public buses reach the area in about 10 to 15 minutes. Driving or taking a taxi takes roughly 10 minutes along the main coastal road, while walking from downtown takes around 45 to 60 minutes.
Time to Spend
Allow 1 to 2 hours for a casual coastal walk, or 2 to 4 hours if you plan to swim at the beach or use the pool facilities.
When to Visit
Summer is ideal for swimming and outdoor activities, though the shoreline and pools get crowded during hot afternoons. Early morning and sunset offer cooler temperatures and fewer people for walking. Traffic and parking near the stadium become congested during match days.

You can combine your visit with these nearby locations:

- Grbci (1.3 km): A neighboring residential district.
- Podmurvice (2.2 km): Located eastward on the way back to the city centre.
