Bois d'Inde

Bois d'Inde is a volcanic peak located at the southern tip of Dominica, reaching an elevation of approximately 379 meters. Travelers visit this site primarily for the vantage point it provides over the surrounding landscape and the coastline. It serves as a prominent geographical landmark that is clearly visible from the Grand Bay area.

Getting There

To reach the peak from the center of Roseau, you will need a rental vehicle or a local taxi. The drive takes you toward the southern coast of the island. Depending on traffic and road conditions, the journey typically takes about 45 to 60 minutes.

Visit Duration

Most visitors spend between 1 and 2 hours at the site. This allows enough time to observe the scenery and take photographs of the coastline from the elevation of the peak.

When to Visit

The site is best visited during the daylight hours for visibility. Like much of the island, it is advisable to check local weather forecasts to avoid heavy rain. This location does not typically experience the same level of crowding as the main tourist hubs in the north.
