Woodbridge Bay
Woodbridge Bay
Woodbridge Bay serves as the primary port for Dominica, acting as the main gateway for ships and ferries entering the country. While the port area is functional, the coastline extending north of Roseau offers quiet seaside scenery for visitors interested in the local waterfront environment.
Getting There
The bay is located on the edge of Roseau. From the city centre, it is a short distance that can be covered by a brief taxi ride or a walk of approximately 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your starting point.
Duration of Visit
Depending on whether you are arriving by ship or simply visiting the coast, allow 1 to 2 hours to walk along the shoreline and observe the port activity.
When to Visit
The area is most active during the day when ships are docked. To experience the quieter seaside scenery north of the port, visiting during the early morning or late afternoon is recommended. Avoid visiting during peak cruise ship arrival times if you prefer to avoid crowds.
Nearby Attractions
The bay is centrally located near several other sites in and around Roseau. You can combine a visit here with the following:
- Boeri River (1km)
- Dominica Botanical Gardens (1.7km)
- Roseau River (1.8km)
- Roseau Cathedral (1.9km)
