Established in 1958, this is the largest zoo in Brazil. It is situated on expansive grounds that were originally part of the Atlantic Forest. Visitors go here to see a wide variety of animal species while walking along a 4-kilometer trail that integrates the exhibits with the natural forest environment.
Getting There
The zoo is located in the southern zone of the city, away from the central business district. From the city centre, the most common way to reach the site is by ride-sharing apps or taxi. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey typically takes between 45 and 90 minutes.

Because of the 4-kilometer trail and the size of the grounds, visitors should allow at least 4 to 6 hours to complete the circuit and view the animals. Comfortable walking shoes are necessary.
