The Palace of Garaboyuk Khanum is an 18th-century fortress located on a hill southeast of Shusha. It is characterized by a square layout with four corner towers. Travelers visit this site to see one of the only two surviving fortresses in the city and to observe the historical military architecture of the region.
Getting There
The palace is located on the outskirts of the city center. Access is typically via taxi or private vehicle, as the site is situated on elevated terrain. The trip from the central area of Shusha generally takes about 5 to 10 minutes depending on traffic.
Visit Duration
Allow approximately 45 to 90 minutes to explore the fortress grounds and the surrounding hill area.
When to Visit
The site is best visited during the spring and autumn months to avoid extreme temperatures. Morning or late afternoon visits are recommended to avoid the midday sun, as the location is open and exposed on a hilltop.
