Saint Louis Castle
Located in the center of Sidon, this site consists of the ruins of a castle originally built by French Crusaders in 1254. It was constructed atop an earlier Fatimid fortress and underwent various reconstructions through the 17th century. Visitors go here to see the layered architectural history and the remaining fortifications of the medieval period.
Getting There
The castle is situated within the heart of Sidon. From the city center, it is accessible via a short walk or a brief taxi ride, typically taking less than 10 minutes depending on the starting point.

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk through the ruins and examine the different historical layers of the structure.
When to Visit
The site is outdoors, so visiting during the cooler months of autumn or spring is advisable to avoid the summer heat. Morning visits are generally preferred for better lighting and lower temperatures.
