Gardens by the Bay
The Gardens by the Bay (GBTB) is an urban park spanning 105 hectares in the Central Region of Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. The park consists of three waterfront gardens: Bay South Garden in Marina South, Bay East Garden with the Founders' Memorial in Marina East and Bay Central Garden in the Downtown Core and Kallang. The largest of the gardens is the Bay South Garden at 54 hectares designed by Grant Associates. Its Flower Dome is the largest glass greenhouse in the world.

Gardens by the Bay is a large waterfront park on reclaimed land next to Marina Reservoir, made up of three separate sections: Bay South (the largest and main visitor area), Bay East, and Bay Central. Most visitors go for Bay South, home to the Flower Dome, the largest glass greenhouse in the world, and the Supertree Grove, a set of tree-like vertical gardens that light up after dark. It's a place to walk through curated planted landscapes and climate-controlled conservatories rather than a wild nature reserve.
Getting there
From the Downtown Core, it's about a 15-20 minute walk via the waterfront promenade, or a short taxi/ride-share ride of around 10 minutes depending on traffic. Bayfront MRT station connects directly to Bay South Garden via an underground link, making transit the simplest option if you're coming from elsewhere in the city.
How much time to allow
Budget at least half a day if you want to see the Supertree Grove and walk through one or both conservatories (Flower Dome and Cloud Forest). Add extra time if you plan to catch the evening light show at the Supertrees.
When to go
Early morning or late afternoon into evening are more comfortable, since midday sun can be intense in the outdoor garden areas. The outdoor sections and Supertree Grove get busiest in the evening around the light show, so arrive a bit early if you want a good viewing spot. The conservatories are indoors and air-conditioned, making them a reasonable option regardless of weather or time of day.

- The Helix Bridge (0.7km) - a pedestrian bridge with a distinctive DNA-inspired structure, easily walkable from the gardens.
- Singapore Flyer (0.7km) - a large observation wheel nearby, good for a wider view of the bay area.
- ArtScience Museum (0.8km) - within walking distance, useful if you want an indoor stop.
- Marina Bay (1.1km) - the broader waterfront area, worth pairing with an evening stroll after the gardens.
