Overview

Built in 1903 for a lawyer and diplomat, Sarmadzhiev House is a Neo-Baroque mansion located in Sofia between Sofia University and Eagles' Bridge. Travellers visit primarily to observe its early 20th-century architectural style and decorative exterior details from street level.

Getting There

The site sits along Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard on the eastern side of the city centre. Walking from central points such as Serdika or the central pedestrian zones takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. It can also be reached via the metro network by exiting at the Sofia University station, located a short walk away.

Time to Allow

Plan to spend roughly 10 to 15 minutes here, which is sufficient time to view the exterior facade and take photographs from the pavement.

When to Go

Visit during daylight hours when exterior architectural details are fully visible. The adjacent road and pavement experience regular pedestrian and vehicle traffic during weekday commute periods, but viewing the building from the street is rarely crowded or obstructed.
