Sustipan
Sustipan is a small peninsula located on the seafront southwest of Split. It was the site of a Benedictine monastery and church during the Middle Ages and previously housed one of Croatia's most notable cemeteries. Visitors go here to walk along the coast and find architectural traces of the area's religious and funerary history.
Getting There
The peninsula is accessible via a walk from the Split city centre. Depending on your starting point, the walk typically takes between 15 and 25 minutes along the waterfront.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk the perimeter of the peninsula and explore the remaining historical ruins.
When to Visit
The site is open to the public. To avoid the midday heat and the largest crowds, visiting during the early morning or late afternoon is recommended. During the peak summer season, the walking paths can become crowded with both tourists and locals.
