Långholmen

Långholmen is an island located in central Stockholm situated between Södermalm and Kungsholmen. It is primarily a nature area used for outdoor recreation. Visitors go here to walk along the coast, picnic, and use the small beach located next to the site of a former prison for swimming during the warmer months.

Getting There

The island is reachable on foot from the city centre via bridges connecting it to the mainland. Depending on your starting point in central Stockholm, the walk typically takes between 15 and 30 minutes.

Allow 2 to 4 hours to explore the island's walking paths and spend time by the water. The amount of time depends on whether you intend to swim or simply walk the perimeter.
