Argentoratum

Argentoratum is the site of the ancient Roman settlement and military outpost that preceded the modern city of Strasbourg. Established in 12 BC, it later became a significant stronghold for the Legio VIII Augusta. Travelers visit this site to explore the archaeological remains of the Roman empire's presence in the region and to understand the city's origins as a frontier garrison.
