Hyde Park Barracks

Located on Macquarie Street, this historic site was constructed between 1817 and 1819 to serve as quarters for convicts. Over time, the building functioned as a hospital and a mint. Today, it operates as a museum that documents the traveler can visit to learn about Australia's convict history and the lives of those who lived and worked there. The site also includes a café.
