Taichung Park

Established during the Japanese colonial era, this is the oldest park in Taichung. It consists of a network of walking paths, mature trees, and a central lake. Travelers visit the site to walk through its historical landscape and observe the local urban greenery.

Getting There

The park is located within the city center. Depending on your starting point in the central district, it is accessible via local bus or taxi, typically taking 10 to 20 minutes to reach.

Duration of Visit

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk the main paths and circle the lake.

When to Visit

Early morning or late afternoon are the most suitable times to avoid the midday heat. The park can become crowded during weekends and public holidays when local residents gather for recreation.

Nearby Attractions

Because of its central location, the park can be combined with several nearby landmarks within walking distance:

  • Taichung Liu-yuan Presbyterian Church (0.4km)
  • Christ the Saviour Cathedral, Taichung (0.5km)
  • Roman Catholic Diocese of Taichung (0.5km)
  • Taichung Shiyakusho (0.9km)
