USS Sarsfield
The USS Sarsfield is a retired naval destroyer permanently moored in Tainan. Originally a US Navy vessel, it served in the Taiwanese Navy for 27 years under the name Te Yang. It now functions as a museum ship, allowing visitors to walk the decks and enter the interior compartments to see the living quarters and operational areas of a mid-century warship.
Getting There
The ship is located along the waterfront in the Anping District. From Tainan city centre, you can reach the site via taxi or local bus. The journey typically takes 30 to 5 kilometers depending on your starting point and usually lasts between 20 and 40 minutes.
Visit Duration
Most visitors spend approximately 1 to 2 hours exploring the ship. This allows enough time to navigate the narrow interior corridors and walk the length of the upper deck.
