Russalka Memorial
Overview
The Russalka Memorial is a bronze monument on Tallinn's waterfront in Kadriorg. Erected to commemorate a Russian warship that sank en route to Finland, it features an angel holding an Orthodox cross facing the direction of the shipwreck. Visitors come to inspect the bronze figure, the stone relief carvings, and the views across the Gulf of Finland.
Getting There
From central Tallinn, take tram line 1 or 3 toward Kadriorg, or take a local bus eastward. The ride takes 10 to 15 minutes. Walking from the Old Town along the coastal promenade takes about 30 minutes.

When to Go
Because the site is on open coastline, it can be cold and windy outside of summer. Late afternoon offers clear light over the water. The monument rarely gets crowded, though the nearby promenade is busy on warm weekends.
