Cape Malabata

Located 10 km east of downtown Tangier, this cape overlooks the Strait of Gibraltar. Visitors go here to see the coastal landscape, the lighthouse, and a castle-like building dating from the early 20th century.

Getting There

The site is accessible from the city centre via taxi or local transport. The journey typically takes around 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Duration of Visit

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk around the cape, visit the lighthouse area, and observe the coastline.

When to Visit

The location is exposed to the elements, so visiting during the spring or autumn avoids the extreme heat of summer and the wind of winter. Late afternoon is a common time for visitors to arrive to see the changing light over the strait.
