Opened in 1927, this is the oldest and largest zoo in Georgia. Located in the Vere River valley, it houses a variety of animal species native to the Caucasus region as well as animals from other parts of the world. Visitors go here to see a diverse collection of wildlife in a centralized urban location.

The zoo is located within the city limits of Tbilisi. From the city centre, it is accessible via taxi or public transport. The journey typically takes between 10 and 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
