The Cinema Museum of Thessaloniki focuses on the history of filmmaking in Greece. Set inside a converted warehouse at the city's port, the institution maintains close links with the Thessaloniki Film Festival. It presents collections of cinematic equipment, archival footage, posters, and thematic exhibitions illustrating how cinema developed in the region.

Getting There

Located on the port's waterfront pier, the building is accessible on foot from central Thessaloniki. Walking from Aristotelous Square takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes along the sea promenade.

A typical visit requires around 45 to 60 minutes to go through the galleries.

When to Go

Weekday mornings and early afternoons tend to be uncrowded. The port area and museum see a sharp increase in visitor numbers during the annual Thessaloniki Film Festival in autumn. If you prefer quiet viewing, plan your visit outside festival dates.
