Tôlanaro is a compact port city where transport is primarily focused on moving between the town center, the waterfront, and the outskirts leading to nature reserves.

• Tuk-tuks: The most efficient mode for short trips within the city. They win on flexibility and speed for navigating narrow streets.
• Taxis: Better suited for longer trips to the outskirts or when carrying heavy gear. They provide more security and weather protection than tuk-tuks.
• Walking: Feasible for those staying in the central hub, as many administrative buildings and cafes are clustered together.

Airport Transfers

Tôlanaro Airport (FTU) is located outside the main town center. Travelers have two primary options for transit:
