Lion Tower
The Lion Tower is a Mamluk-era military fort located at the eastern end of the port in Tripoli, Lebanon. Built to defend the city during conflicts with the Crusaders, the structure serves as an example of Mamluk military architecture. Visitors go here to see the historical fortifications and the coastal layout of the port area.
Getting There
The tower is located near the waterfront. From Tripoli city centre, it is accessible via a short taxi ride or a walk toward the port. The journey typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Because of its small size as a military outpost rather than a large palace, most visitors spend between 30 and 60 minutes exploring the site and the immediate surrounding area.
When to Visit
Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat, particularly during the summer months. The site is outdoors and exposed to the elements. It does not typically experience the same level of crowding as the city's central mosques.
