Located in eastern Ulaanbaatar, the site is accessible from the city centre by taxi or public bus heading east along Peace Avenue. Under normal driving conditions, the trip takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes, though heavy traffic during peak hours can increase travel time.

Plan to spend between 1 and 2 hours here. This allows ample time to tour the two floors of indoor exhibition halls as well as inspect the outdoor vehicle displays.

The museum rarely experiences heavy crowds, so visits can be scheduled comfortably at any time during the day. The warmer months from May to September are the most practical time to visit, as outdoor vehicle inspection is unpleasant during Mongolia's severe winter cold.
