Scheienkopf

Scheienkopf is a mountain peak located on the border between Liechtenstein and Austria. Reaching an elevation of 2,159 meters within the Rätikon range, it is used by visitors for trekking and alpine hiking to view the surrounding landscape of the Alps.

Getting There

Access from Vaduz city centre requires a combination of local transport or a car to reach the nearest trailhead, followed by a hike. Depending on the starting point and the hiker's pace, the ascent typically takes several hours.

Time Requirement

Visitors should allow a full day for the trip. This accounts for the ascent, the time spent at the summit, and the descent back to the valley.

When to Visit

The peak is accessible during the warmer months, typically from late spring to autumn, when snow levels permit hiking. It is advisable to start early in the morning to ensure a return before dark. This location does not typically experience the same crowds as major urban tourist sites.

The area is suitable for extended trekking. Other nearby peaks in the Rätikon range include:

  • Ochsenkopf (1.7km)
