Overview

Located in a fertile valley near Rabat, Buskett Gardens is one of Malta's few wooded areas. The grounds feature groves of citrus, olive, and pine trees along marked footpaths. Travellers visit for shaded walking, birdwatching, and quiet natural surroundings. Verdala Palace, used as the Maltese president's residence, sits right beside the valley.

Getting There

From Valletta, public buses heading toward Dingli or Rabat take about 45 to 60 minutes. Driving or taking a taxi takes roughly 25 to 30 minutes.

When to Go

Spring and autumn offer the mildest temperatures and greenest scenery. In summer, visit in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid midday heat. The park attracts local picnickers on sunny weekends, while weekdays remain quiet.
