Overview

Located at the northern edge of Vancouver's Kitsilano neighborhood facing English Bay, this park and beach area provides open sand, grassy lawns, and views of the downtown skyline. Travellers visit to walk along the seawall, swim in the bay, or relax outdoors.

Getting There

From downtown Vancouver, direct city buses take roughly 15 to 20 minutes. Walking or cycling via the Burrard Street Bridge route takes 20 to 30 minutes, while a taxi ride takes about 10 minutes.

Suggested Duration

Allow 1 to 2 hours for a walk along the shore. If relaxing on the lawn or swimming, plan for half a day.

When to Visit

Summer brings the warmest weather, but the beach becomes very crowded on sunny afternoons and weekends, leading to congested parking. Weekday mornings offer a quieter visit, and clear evenings are well suited for watching the sunset.
